How to compare lab test prices

Current as of Oct 19, 2026. No medical reviewer.

A checklist for comparing cash lab offers: same test, stated fees, and the date checked. No amounts and no ranking.

Use the same test

Two cash offers are comparable when they name the same test and the same component list. A panel price is not the price of one marker inside the panel. A membership fee is not the price of one test.

Read the explainer for that test when this site has one. The explainer lists components. It does not list a price.

Read the fees the offer states

A cash price can leave out a draw fee, a physician-order fee, or both. On this site, a fee counts only when a verified sheet row states it. A blank fee is not filled in.

See what an all-in price includes and what a physician-order fee is.

Read the date

Each price page shows the date that price was checked. An older row is not a current offer. This site hides a verified price after the staleness window described in the methodology.

Where the prices live

This page has no amounts. Open the cash page for the test you are comparing.
